The Power of Life Vision

The Power of Life Vision

The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind.”
– Wayne W. Dyer

There was once a man named Ali who owned a large farm with many orchards. Ali was perfectly content with his lot in life until one day, when a local priest told him how the Almighty had created diamonds, and how one stone the size of his thumb was worth enough to purchase an entire country. As the story goes, Ali went to bed a poor man. He sold his farm and set out to seek a fortune in diamonds.

After years of searching all over and not finding a single diamond, Ali ended up penniless. In a fit of despair, he threw himself into the raging ocean tide and drowned. Soon afterward, the purchaser of Ali’s farm was visited by the same priest who had told Ali about diamonds. The priest noticed a small diamond on the mantelpiece and asked, “Where did you find this?” To which the man replied, “There’s a brook that runs through our farm, and it’s full of them.”
(paraphrased from Russel H. Cromwell’s story “Acres of Diamonds”)

Much like Ali, you are sitting on your own diamond mine. The surest way to lose it is to not fully understanding what a powerful creator you are.

YOU are always creating something. Every single moment. You always have and always will be.

Your choice to read this text is a perfect example of you creating. This choice flowed from a deeper intention inside your mind. An intention that in turn has also been chosen by you (consciously or unconsciously).

It’s not a question of whether you are a creative or non-creative person (as you can see, there is no such thing).

The question simply is: What are you creating right now?

You’ve likely been primarily focused on your business or career. But your work is just one part of your life. It’s your life vision that brings meaning to your business or career.

Your life vision, when wisely crafted and emotionally connected, is a powerful magnet that pulls you towards it. Without it, you’ll never be able to move through the discomforts of real change and growth (discipline is just about remembering what you want).

Nothing happens without intention. Being intentional simply means being clear on what you want. A powerful life vision brings you that clarity.

I can personally feel the truth of that as I’m writing these words. They are quite literally flowing straight from my life vision. It’s a beautiful feeling.

When intentions (conscious or unconscious) are in opposition, symptoms of this inner conflict appear. They could manifest as physical illness, self-sabotage, loss of energy, confusion, depression, burn out, anxiety, inner/outer drama or conflicts.

The list is endless.

The game you play is a reflection of your life vision. What success in it looks like, what the board looks like, what the rules are and what the goals and tactics must be as a result.

Research shows that high-performers in both sports and business are almost all visualizers. They see it, feel it, and experience it deeply before they actually do it.

Have you ever noticed, when you’re playing a great game, how it can:

  • Create effortless flow
  • Bring out courage
  • Develop your greatest gifts
  • Break down self-consciousness
  • Unleash your creativity
  • Bring immense joy to your life

There are only two things that can ruin a great game: taking it too seriously or not taking it seriously enough!

Is the game you’re playing getting you what you really want?

Is your life vision clear and inspiring?

Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls.”
– Joseph Campbell
